We took a 10 day road trip around North West Argentina with Five Senses Travel. So much variety! Incredible scenery in both valleys and mountains, wildlife, historical museums, staying in... read more luxurious hotels as well as mountain hostels and we had a variety of local cultural experiences. We enjoyed wine tasting, some great meals and an empanada cooking contest in a mountain village. The geology of the Andean highlands is amazing. Our knowledgable guide/driver was Edgar Gigena who knows every inch of the roads, drove safely and was good company. The trip was organised like clockwork. Highly recommended!

We had an excellent 3-day tour of the Salta region with Alejandro. He's a great guide--very knowledgeable and personable. My wife and I wanted a hassle-free private tour of the Salta province - and wow did they deliver! Over 5 days in a Toyota 4x4 we went North to... read more the many colored mountain, Humahuaca, the archeological site at Pucara, and Ruta 52 up the Lipan Slope to the Salinas Grandes. What an amazing road that is! Then a half day tour of Salta city, and South for two days via the Cuesta del Obispo visiting Cachi and Puna winery where we watched Argentina win the World Cup! The celebrations later in Cachi town square were amazing. Then Cafayate the next day and lunch at the fabulous Piatelli vineyard.
Our guide and driver Alejandro was excellent - a pleasant companion full of information, patiently educating us with our stumbling Spanish, and dealt easily with the challenges of the road such as two flat tyres! Ruta 40 between Cachi and San Carlos is a hoot - more like a farm track than a road, but with stunning scenery through the Quebrada las Flèches.
We liked the accommodations as well. Villa Vicuña in Salta is a charming boutique hotel with lovely staff who were so helpful (they made breakfast for us at 5am to catch a flight), El Reposo del Diablo in Tilcara was lovely too, and the Estancia in Molinos is large with lots of old world charm, but weird when you are the only guests staying.
Overall a wonderful experience with stunning landscapes which I highly recommend.

My wife and I did a 2 day 4x4 tour from Salta. Amazing mountain and cacti scenery stopping at Cachi for lunch and overnight in Bodega Colome - what a... read more place this is! Art gallery at Colome amazing. Return via Catafyate. So glad I did not drive - our driver/guide really helpful. The English tour manager was really helpful at all stages.

In December 2019 my wife and I, along with two friends, were treated to an an amazing three day trip around northern Salta Province followed by a more extended six... read more day trip to the south of the province. I say treated because we were in the extraordinarily capable hands of Five Senses Salta.
We were taken to a number of fascinating villages where we shopped and dined and also listened to some wonderful ethnic music. We traversed some of the most amazing and varied landscapes - multi coloured rocky valleys, vast open desert plains of cactus and blasted twisted rock formations, ancient native settlements, lush vineyards and river valleys and at one point a seemingly endless salt plain.
The hotels we stayed in were top class - a delight to arrive at and we were always sad to leave - but the road beckoned.
We travelled in two separate cars which were very comfortable. Given the often demanding road conditions, our drivers were more than up to the task and as guides were full of interesting and relevant information.
The trip was part of a more extended visit to South America, including Lima and Machu Picchu in Peru. This part of the trip was also organised via Five Senses contacts based in Lima.
We definitely enjoyed the trip of a lifetime with Five Senses. It was easy to communicate with Gareth and his team, who always responded quickly to any questions and tailored the trip to meet our needs in every respect. Airport and hotel pick ups were efficient, cars and drivers of the highest quality and rest days built in to our itinerary. Can’t recommend Salta Province and Five Senses highly enough. Thanks to all.

Gareth booked in our tour very swiftly (despite us only enquiring about it a couple of weeks in advance!) and Alejandro, our guide on the day, was absolutely brilliant! He was tireless, really friendly and knowledgeable and ensured we got exactly what we wanted out of the tour.
It was absolutely worth every cent and we will certainly be recommending this to anyone we know who is visiting the Salta region.

TRANSFERS and TRANSPORT
Whilst Five Senses Travel is based in Argentina, they organised the Peru section with their partners at Condor Travel, Peru. Private transfers were arranged at both Lima and Cusco airports and good advice given in taking taxis at Buenos Aires for transfer to and from the hotel. The tour managers were polite, friendly and very efficient. They took all the stress out of travelling by providing us with the necessary entrance tickets to sites as well as being our guides. Thank you Condor Travel for helping to make a memorable trip.
ACCOMMODATION
We asked for mid range hotels in both countries and were delighted with all of them. Five Senses had certainly done their homework and came up with a mix of heritage hotels and lodges with the wow factor and away from the beaten track.
In Argentina, we went on two road trips, first to the north of Salta Province and then the south. Our guides’ expert knowledge of the area was a bonus; one day we were taken off track to visit a weaver who worked on an archaic loom, producing textiles which won her an award at national level. On another, they sought out the best place to see the elusive condor. Every day was a voyage of discovery. We learnt so much about both countries.Thank you Five Senses for a holiday that will live long in the memory.

We had an awesome time with 5 Senses Traveller and our guide Eduardo. We had originally planned the trip with Gareth who was super helpful in answering our questions and... read more suggesting things to see/do. Gareth was also brilliant in helping when we had to adjust our itinerary due to a flight schedule change. Eduardo our guide, a Salta native, was full of information, good fun and totally happy to adjust the itinerary if we wanted to spend more/less time somewhere, which was much appreciated.
If we ever make it back to Northern Argentina, I’d definitely contact Five Senses to see what other awesome locations they could show us.

We took a 13 hour tour day with Five Senses Travel at the end of June and it was honestly fabulous! With Juan Pablo as our fluent English speaking guide... read more and driver, we saw some of the most wonderful sights the Salta region has to offer. At heights of up to 14,500 feet, we were mesmerised by the Salinas Grandes, Atacama Desert, coloured mountains, Jujuy, Purmamarca and the Train Through the Clouds to name but a few. Juan Pablo was charming, patient and knowledgeable, answering our frequent and many questions. The safety tracking devices Juan Pablo carries were a great comfort too. We thoroughly recommend Five Senses Travel and have already passed on details to several friends who are looking to take a similar trip next year. Thank you to everyone at Five Senses Travel for making our time in Salta so memorable, we wish you much continued success with your business. More
